Hello hello,
I know it's been a while since the last time I posted, but have no fear... I am still happily an ex-smoker.
Sept 9, 2006, I got married. I'll post a wedding photo or two as soon as I get them back. Suffice it to say, it was one hell of an event, and how can it not be? The Big Day went just beautifully, in spite of a few minor and mostly humorous mishaps.
My husband and I are enjoying our first weekend back in town. This has been a very productive weekend; he replaced the dishwasher (no small task--some fried wiring involved), got our buddy/electrician to come out and finish some 85% done electrical work from 4-5 months ago, and I wrote about 40 Thank You cards, treated a spider mite-infested Cordyline houseplant, found the missing pieces to our ZaZan cream and black colored tableware set, and I'm in the process of slow-roasting a rump roast and cooking stuffed yellow squash. We'll be watching the Skins-Cowboys game tonight (that's right, Skins are first, in my book) with my brother Geoff.
Work has been really stressful, but everything else in life has been just delicious lately.
One of the nice things about our wedding was that it was a reunion for me and my immediate family: 3 brothers and Mom and Dad (who are still together after... 38 years!) The last time we were all together, which was probably 2+ years ago, at least four of us were smokers, including me. This time, a record 5 out of 6 were non-smokers. I hope we gave our smoker brother some inspiration to quit.
If there are any former smokers (or smokers ready to quit) reading this blog, I'd love to hear from you.
Au revoir,
X
