Two of my brothers are quitting smoking! I am very happy to see their efforts succeeding. Well, I haven't talked to either of them today, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until I have reason not to.
John has been off, cold turkey, for going on 17 days now. He made it through the 14th-day danger zone, not to mention the NIN concert and two gigs, and a visit from that heavy smoker ex-girlfriend of his. Way to go, John!
Geoff's using the patch. He was duly warned about the hallucinogenic nights you experience if you neglect to remove the patch before sleeping, so I don't think he's had that experience. Geoff has 4 days under his belt today, and is cutting back on caffeine and alcohol, and going on walks daily. He's putting me to shame in those departments.
Me, I've got about 10 1/2 months behind me, and a mere six weeks ahead of me until my one year quittiversary.
My Mom's probably close to her golden quit anniversary this year--25 years sans cigarettes. What an act to follow!
Wish us luck.
